Zen Tech Hub (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a consumer technology review site serving readers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere. We take your privacy seriously, and this page explains — in plain language — what data we collect, why we collect it, which cookies we use, and the rights you have over your information.
This policy is written with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) in mind.
Who We Are
Zen Tech Hub is an independent publication operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, under the laws of England and Wales. For the purposes of UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we are the data controller for the personal data described on this page. What Data We Collect
We collect far less than you might expect from a modern website, but here is the complete picture.
Analytics data
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how readers use the site — which reviews get read, where visitors come from, and how pages perform. GA4 collects pseudonymous data such as device type, browser, approximate location (city level), pages visited, and time on page. We have IP anonymisation enabled and we do not use analytics data to identify individual visitors.
Newsletter email addresses
We do not currently operate a newsletter and collect no email addresses through this site. If we launch one, this policy will be updated before any sign-up form appears.
Comments
If you leave a comment on an article, we collect the name and email address you provide, the comment text, and your IP address (retained briefly for spam prevention). Your name and comment are displayed publicly; your email address is not.
Server logs
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. These are retained for a limited period and then deleted.
We do not collect payment details, government identifiers, or any special categories of personal data. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16, and the site is not directed at children.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We group ours into three categories.
Strictly necessary cookies
These make the site work — for example, remembering your cookie consent choices or keeping a comment form functional. They cannot be switched off, because the site would not function correctly without them. They do not track you.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)

Advertising cookies (Adsterra and partners)
Advertising on Zen Tech Hub is supplied by Adsterra, a third-party ad network, and this is the part of the policy we want to be especially clear about:
Third-party vendors, including Adsterra and the advertisers bidding through it, use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
These vendors use that data to count impressions, detect fraudulent clicks, limit how often you see the same ad, and — where permitted — select which ad to show you. Zen Tech Hub does not receive, store, or have access to it. Adsterra’s own privacy policy is at adsterra.com/privacy-policy.
Every ad slot on this site is labelled Advertisement and sits outside our editorial content. We do not run pop-ups, pop-unders, floating overlays, or native ads dressed up to look like our own articles, and no advertiser can buy a position in our rankings — see our Editorial Policy.
You can opt out of personalised advertising from many vendors at once at optout.aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.com (UK/EU). Most browsers also let you block third-party cookies outright in their privacy settings.
Other ad-technology vendors may also place cookies on this site when their demand is served through Adsterra. We do not control those vendors; each is governed by its own privacy policy.
Declining advertising cookies does not remove ads — it limits how they are targeted. Contextual ads, chosen from the page content rather than your browsing history, are still served.
Affiliate cookies
When you click an affiliate link on Zen Tech Hub (to Amazon, or to retailers via Awin, Impact, Commission Junction, or brand programs), the destination site or network may set a cookie to attribute any purchase you make to us. These cookies are set by the third party, not by us, and are governed by that party’s privacy policy. Amazon’s cookie, for example, typically attributes purchases made within 24 hours of your click. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

Legitimate interests — for security, spam prevention, server logs, and non-personalised advertising.
Contract — where processing is necessary to provide something you have explicitly requested.
How Long We Keep Data
Analytics data: retained in GA4 for 14 months, then automatically deleted.
Newsletter emails: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Comments: kept indefinitely while the article remains published, unless you request removal.
Server logs: typically retained for 30 days or less.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Erasure — ask us to delete your data (the “right to be forgotten”).
Restriction and objection — limit or object to certain processing.
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting prior processing.
Non-discrimination (CCPA) — we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Third-Party Links
Zen Tech Hub links extensively to third-party websites — retailers, manufacturers, and other publications. Once you leave our site, this policy no longer applies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit through our links.
Data Transfers
Some of our service providers (including Google and our email platform) process data in the United States. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to it, or Standard Contractual Clauses.
